Questioned Strength

Are you allowed to be flawed?

My name is Kalel,

But my strength's a question mark.

I always saw myself powered by the close sun,

A prideful plant standing on books.

Since I can't fly to athletic regions of space

Within academic bricks,

I wear my suit and glasses and an S on my tie,

My strength is shown, and not just in how I'm seen.

I've battled pianisimos and pencils no problem.

A bit of Kryptonite shines in math,

But it increases due to my lack in understanding

The history of the world I don't really know.

I speed right into screams of disappointment.

I once saw a D on a Trig quiz,

Enough Kryptonite blasted for me to fly out the class

And tears sting because Five for Fighting's message

Of me still being a person

Was long forgotten.

I'm Clark Kent where bars are too high

And I'm far away from the sun.

No one has my X-ray vision,

So all they see is judgment as the battery

For more strength that I don't really have.

Revealing my secret identity to them won't change a thing.

I shouldn't struggle or fear.

I open my notebook and produce real thoughts.

My strength expands at the drag of lead and ink.

My writing is my Fortress of Solitude

That refreshes me for the battles of books.

It helps me prove those who looked down on me wrong

And lifts the barriers of my human limitations.

My name is Kalel

And I'm the true Superman.
