PTSD

Zero Hour

Walking in between scared hallways

the screams can be heard for miles

footsteps of the forgotten engraved on

marble floors

Walking in between cluttered classrooms

A tornado of fear

A grave for tears and prayers

Souls trapped within four walls

Punishment for living

Will we have time to visit all the

unmarked graves?

Will we have time to decorate them

with rosaries & prayers?

Will we have time to continue feeding

innocent & vulnerable lambs

to bloodthirsty wolves?

Let's have a moment of silence

Let's take time to lament & reflect

Let the tears fall they will be dried up

by tomorrow

Let's have a period of inaction

only to remember but never vindicate

their candlelight has gone out

will you help me light it?
