Protect the Bubble

What Finding Safety in Solitude Feels Like

Protect the bubble.

The bubble mustn't explode.

It can be strengthened by familiar patterns

Or bumps in the road

Made at your own leisure.

Your concern isn't contagious.

Others want to pop your bubble.

Are there risks for your protection?

Scowls will multiply like rabbits

From your dedication and fear.

Silence becomes your teddy bear

So you won't repeat replacing comfort with guilt

After saying the wrong things before.

You're the new "Mr. Contemptible"

All because the one thing they care about

Is forcing you to deal with and be like them

All for their amusement of your discomfort.

If you're really more "someone" than "burden" to them,

They'd approach you armed with reasons for you to confide in them

Instead of using their familiar weapons

To yank you out of the bubble

Or wrecking ball the walls that protect it.

Unless you want to hand your strings

To someone who'll shove you in their ideals,

Get back to upgrading ASAP
