Lies rise like tides,
and the water fills the house.
rushing to suffocate,
the stairs lead to me.
an oil paint sky above,
but the moon just watches us.
take a hit from your cigarette,
you laugh and the water settles.
a star falls with my eyelids,
opening to only brightness.
the sun is now our spotlight,
our surroundings turn graceful.
my palms trace the tall grass,
your body temps me forward.
when you go to speak,
lighting strikes and we break.
words drop like snowflakes,
icy breath nips my skin.
in my mind I know,
we will never be calm together.
for I am Mother Nature,
and you are my pollution.
