Poetry From the Mind

A poem of many that I've decided I should share with those who want to read it.

An Ocean Away

If I were to stand an ocean away

I would still say I was close to you.

And I'd ask to stay.

I would leave every time you wanted me to

But you're a poisonous thought in my mind

Unable to rid myself of you, I accept what it is

It is adoration

It is love

It is promising to keep holding onto you,

when you never wanted it back.

It is a promise I should not have made

And I cannot bring myself to break it,

I never will.
