Poem 6

I love you.

You have saved me from myself.

High school might’ve been horrible for me because of all the harassment and bullying.

I might’ve had problems that I didn’t know how to fix.

There might’ve been things that brought down my self esteem to the lowest point.

But, you helped me no matter how hard it seemed for me to change my mind.

You told me you would not let me harm myself, and that I did not need that to get better.

You were right all along, even though it was tough for me to see it.

You were there when No one else was.

You were there even though I didn’t give you a chance freshman year.

You were there even though I was distant for a few years.

You cared so much, and you really loved me, because you really waited four years.

Four patient years to hear me say I want to be your girlfriend.

The waiting paid off, and I’m glad I gave you a chance because you are better then I can imagine.

You’re what every woman should look for.

You’re loyal, sweet, supportive, funny, tough, and most of all, you’re you.

You’re yourself, and no one changes you.

I hope you know I love you.
