treat her as though she were made of glass,
full-well knowing the world around you
is made up of jagged edges.
treat him like china, the finest kind,
do not assume that just because
he’s made of “man,” that he can handle
the weight of the world upon his head.
treat the hearts around you gently,
for they are made of the most delicate fabric…
please play nice, toys are bought in stores,
they are not meant to be made of
from the children we bore.
