Plainsong of the Sea Maiden

A Personal Poem

Plainsong of the Sea Maiden

And they shall hear that day,

The names I sung upon the quay,

They shall speak of she,

The Lady at the Edge of the Sea,

Ever yearning for what was meant to be…

And there she rests her head upon stone…,

In a land far from home…

She waits for he,

The Light that rises from the edge of the Sea,

Just as He waited for She,

Once, upon the edge of Eternity…

A word unto thee,

The Lady at the Edge of the Sea,

She..., She…,

She was waiting for me….

On the Edge of the Sea did I find her,

Among the heather and the scree,

Singing for another who is not me,

So now I must depart, across the forbidding Sea...
