Perfect to Me

A Poem

Caitlin and James were high school sweethearts, folks said that they would never last. Said they were too young to be in love, and that they were going too fast. Caitlin cried, and held James tight, and this is what she said:

You are the one, I know deep in my heart we were meant to be. People say there's no such thing as perfect, but baby you're perfect to me.

Fast forward five years to their wedding day, Caitlin and James are still in love. "This wedding is a big mistake" his father said, his mother said "It will never last!" James looked in Caitlin's eyes, and held her hands tight, and this was the vow he made:

You are the one, I know deep in my heart we were meant to be. People say there's no such thing as perfect, but baby you're perfect to me.

Fast forward sixty years, they showed everyone that they could last. Now James is in a hospital bed, doctors say that he's fading fast. Caitlin kneeled by his bed, held his hands tight, and with tears in her eyes, this is what she said:

I know someday soon we'll be together again in Heaven, because we were meant to be. People say there's no such thing as perfect, but baby you're perfect, darling you're perfect, my love you are so perfect to me.
