Peeled

Why must your knees touch floors of standard when you are oh so special?

Here's a reason or two; you aren't any more or any less than the next floor.

Why must your lips kiss the feet of ordinary when you are oh so special?

Here's a truth or two, you aren't any less or any more special than the next guy.

So you ask why your knees must be bent in the first place?

Because you travel seas of redemption each time you submit to the past shames of what stripped you of yourself

and bow to the layers continuously uncovered.

Why must you be on your knees touch anything at all?

Because humility has nothing to do with who watched and who said nor who did;

It isn't a lesson learned off of the greats, it isn't a motive for more silent praise.

Humility is her nature.

Love is her nature.

Mercy is her nature.

Perseverance is her nature.

Serenity is her nature.

Euphoria is her nature.

Shame was her nature.

Guilt was her nature.

Judgement was her nature.

Everything good and everything not so good were all part of her nature ; till she decided what set her heart to flames.

Then everything else outside of that felt unlike her because she peeled them off.

So she was no longer and she would vow to no longer be,

Anything that compromised her nature; her chosen nature.

Don't get caught up in your ability to be best nor the worst at something;

Don't create space for anything that feels outside of who you'd salute each time you see a mirror.

Don't compromise that grace for comfort as a means of 'growth' or 'discovery' because it is neither; it is not your nature.

Simply pride your soul and command your spirit for surviving this moment too; for surviving these past forty seconds because someone else put an end to theirs in those seconds, and that for forty seconds more after, another will end theirs too.

What my spirit screams entails you being honest with you for the sake of you.

It entails you being at your greatest effort each day to love just a bit more, even when you don't see why your knees should bend.

Your knees should bend to love each day; you soul should peel to honor each second.
