Peace in Our Time

Can we find peace?

In our lifetime.

Can love make a difference?

Be a lifeline.

To a new world,

A world of harmony.

For everywhere I turn

All that I see,

Even in the papers

Being shown on the TV.

Is man's inhumanity to man

When will we ever learn?

To live by love,

Feel with love,

Talk from the heart

We need to find this way.

The world carries on

And lingers here

When all we have become

Are ashes in the wind

Still, the world will turn

And what will we have achieved?

Another generation

Needy and greedy

Ready to battle on.

But in the end

Flesh and bone we be

So if we live with love

Love is what we leave.

Is that so hard

For any of us to believe.
