My inside seize up sometimes when I think about
my sister.
She is glitter and vodka and beauty inside and out
and I can't contain my love for her
I have seen her grow into a woman
Who is strong and funny and kind
And I am so glad we share more than blood.
She is having a party and I am the old one sitting alone watching.
She buzzes and makes people laugh as she refills their glasses
Her style is slaying all others.
I beam
and I wonder is this the protective love people have
when they see their child for the first time?
My sister spots me
Comes over and hugs me
And she asks
"How much have you had to drink?"
