Papa's Hands Are Shaking

Pins and Needles

Papa's hands are shaking

Why that is nobody knows

Hands are hooked in pockets

And words all come out slow

Papa's hands are shaking

And there's a picture on the fridge

Of me when I was a baby

In Papa's hands strong and big

Papa's hands are shaking

Stress takes its toll

Brood of young dependents

Depending on the old

Papa's hands are shaking

His children cannot help

One child tries to save him

The other never grew up

When papa's hands stop shaking

I'm not sure where I'll be

But I'll try and help my mama

Because the apple fell right under the tree.
