Pandora's Rant

A Poem

Prometheus chained to rock

his liver as bird food on a

constant repeat. It's not enough

for the Son of Chronos. So here

I am. Commissioned by Zeus

Made of the Earth.

Sparked by Olympian Pettiness.

“Okay, humans, have your fire

but take this bitch, too.”

Gifted by the gods.

The Original Bad Bitch

Hotter than the stolen flames.

Made for man's downfall.

Not that anyone told me this,

as I'm shoved off as a present and a plague.

I lift the lid and I'm demonized forever

I didn't mean to sicken the world.

I never dreamed I'd be Patient Zero.

Is this Original Sin?

Maybe Eve and I should have a sit down.

Or, should I look up Lilith?

I opened the Box.

The Original Second Wife ate the Fruit.

And the First Wife now a demon

because she wouldn't submit. What?

Did she refuse to make Adam a sandwich?

I'm seeing a pattern here.

I don't see it stopping with us three.
