I am a P.O.C,

Yes, I am.

A Person of colour,

A Person of culture,

A Person of creation,

A Person of calibre.

I am a P.O.C,

Yes, indeed I am.

Proud of my colour,

Proud of my choices,

Proud of creating change.

I am a P.O.C,

You best believe I am.

Proud to be a part of change,

Proud to see change,

Proud to be the catalyst.

I am a P.O.C,

I am indeed.

Communicating my culture comfortably,

With compassion and conviction.

Do not capitalise on me.

I am not a costume.

My bodies choreography is carried by my ancestors,

With panache,

With omnipotent confidence,

Perambulating with grace.

I am a P.O.C.

Mashallah I am,

Polyglot; a connoisseur of language,

The pinnacle of collating, cultivating, collecting,

Absorbing everyone around me,

Pertinent to progression.

I will not be complicit to your ideas of hate

I go beyond what you’re taught on the news.

Your presumptuous are obsolete.

I am not a catastrophe,

I am a trophy.

I am a P.O.C

I sure as hell am,

A person with captivating charisma,

A person of consciousness.

Pizazz with opulence and charm,

I overwhelm.

I am a P.O.C

Yes, indeed I am.
