Robert Doisneau - La dernière valse du 14 juillet (The last waltz of 14 July) - 1949(© Atelier Robert Doisneau, 2016)

Moment in Time
Does this rose represent my apology?
Petals that bleed true–
Red of an elegy.
The red that my heart runs flush.
Beating in time, still very much alive.
Yet my love is of gold, consistent
with the rising sun.
At times past and future,
we have lost our light to the rain.
It takes a trip above the clouds.
To realize the sun remains shining.
--------
As she walks away, a haze of
unknown surrounds her.
But to be alarmed would be unwary,
a reaction stemmed in haste.
For this cloud is full of gold–
A bolt that seeks not to harm.
In the hands of the beholder,
Her future is bright.
