Only Perfect If
She sees herself as an only perfect if,
For all the other girls are.
If her wavy hair was longer and straighter,
If her two eyes were farther apart.
If her figure was shaped like a beautiful vase,
If her feet were not quite so clumsy.
Just a little bit taller,
A little less wide,
If only the mirror could lie.
But all mirrors have a little secret,
For they’ve watched the hearts of many.
They reflect the truth and only the truth,
A curse that made no one merry.
Every girl has their wishes;
Only perfect if's,
If only they knew their Creator,
The only perfect is.
