One More Round

A Poem

“One More Round”

I’ve been knocked down so many times...

Been bleedin’ been bruised, I’ve been out of my mind...

I hit the mat, I took the fall.

I was counted out but now I’m back...

Standin’ tall.

Don’t ring the bell...

I won’t give in.

Don’t throw the towel....

No, no, no.

I won’t lose this faith I’ve found.

I’ll stand “One More Round.”

I may fall but I won’t stay on the ground.

I’ll stand for “One More Round.”

There’s no looking back, my lesson’s learned.

There’s victory in defeat and the page has turned.

In this book of life that’s so bittersweet.

I’m flat out on my back but then I’m back on my feet...

Don’t ring the bell...

I won’t give in.

Don’t throw the towel...

No, no, no...

I won’t lose this faith I’ve found.

I’ll stand “One More Round.”

I may fall but I won’t stay on the ground.

I’ll stand for “One More Round.”

Where others quit, through blood and tears.

I will fight on through my hurt and fears.

You can batter my body, diminish all you see.

It’s my strength within my heart that forever sustains me.

I won’t lose this faith I’ve found.

I’ll stand “One More Round.”

I may fall but I won’t stay on the ground.

I’ll stand “One More Round.”
