On a Cold Corner

Another Love Poem. Enjoy!

I was on a cold corner waiting for warmth to come around

Then you showed up, that’s when I knew I wasn’t alone

It was cold around as I stood too old

You told me with your luscious smile

That you loved me and taught me how

You handed over your heart, as I did mine

I knew I won’t die alone

Your hand is the last thing I want to feel

Everyone noticed at the parties

They saw the signs of our unity

I don’t think I’ve cried when I was down

I have been scared of the dark

But always walked in it

The heavy load sat on my shoulders

It felt like Jesus was not there to help

But I know you did

I’m too old to feel this cold

So your warmth burned my problems away

The cold corner was lit with your smile
