Old Soul

Will I ever feel loved

In this modern society

I'm still a lone wanderer

I'm trying to get used to it

But I wonder if it will ever change.

The more we plug in,

The less we are human,

Losing our features,

Replacing them with another.

You have to be in it to be loved,

I'm too far out to be loved.

People walk past me and look like they've not seen before..

Do I really look that different to the people on your phone?

Should I see it as hope?

That they still recognise energy.

How do I get the courage?

To be who I want to be

To walk up to them wide open,

Will you share a hug with me?

Let me test your energy,

Great you with a smile...

I feel out of place, old fashioned.

That's my task at hand.
