Ode to Our Love

Poem

What are these songs of love,

That they spring from the heart,

The lovers warble calling out,

Of squawking pain passed in time,

Of desired longing to divine,

Seeking promise from hither kind,

Wanting sanctioned honesty bared,

Tenderness not feigned for to care,

Giving comfort in timeless stair,

Spinning embraced in each other's snare,

Is there a lover there,

Answer sweet a chirping wisp,

Drawing near the sparrow harps,

Ever so careful do they bop,

At an instant ready to dart,

Not to taste in regard,

To loves arrow to the heart,

Too many lessons wounding soul,

But to have love a condition so,

For one can’t know heat without cold,

And brilliant life without dark,

Thus some sacrifice will suffice,

So only to step into loves light,

Basking in sunshine of true height,

Past loves darkness into flight,

Finding in lovers only goodness right,

Sweetest cherub with empty queue,

Having only adoring for lovers wait,

No more sorrows to have to pay,

Eternal happiness of lovers stay,

Where to find that lovers way,

The dove does coo for lovers lay,

What songs indeed planting seed,

Nourished by a loving suite.
