Nous, No More

Poem of What You Make Me Feel

Follow the paths

which lead you astray

because only there

will you find your mistakes

only there will you notice what's fair.

only there will you see what's at stake,

Seconds turn to minutes and the hours turn to weeks

and my heart is still racing with the fire burning bright.

Left undone

under the burning sun

I can find your face

traces of my disgrace

flowing, following, decoding my enigma and it's shine.

If there were a sky, it would be in your eyes.

If there were a light, it would come from your smile.

If there were a heaven, it would be right beside you.

If there were a life, it would only be worth living for you.

If there were such sorrow, it would be because you're not there.

When everything else seems useless and lost,

I'll keep playing this game because, while you're still here,

there isn't a thing in this universe that would make me give you up.

Every breath, I take for you.

Every laugh, is because of you.

Every glance, I take for you.

Every smile, is because of you.

The only things worth remembering are the things that change our lives,

you notice my impatience, my imperfection,

and you render me perfect anyway.

Like a rope tied to the tree branch, the green leaves growing bright around it,

I'll quiver and shake until the nous binds me no more.

I'll lay there forsaken, until your light shines on my body,

engulfing my soul.

Retrieving the pieces of my shattered image.
