Nothing Says Romance

A few drops of innocence

here and there,

doesn't compensate for the empty feeling,

that deprives you of air.

Because nothing says romance

like a girl crying with a straight face.

Adding a spoonful of experience

here and there,

doesn't prevent you from the tragedy,

or the relief of a confirmed suspicion,

that leaves you hanging from the tree of despair.

Because nothing says romance,

like a girl crying with a straight face.

A pinch of lies and sorrow,

here and there,

doesn't prove everything is the same,

that feeling numb is better than feeling at all.

Because nothing says romance

like a girl crying with a straight face.
