Life sucks, let's talk about it.

Not Perfect

Not Perfect

Sometimes the imperfections I have give people the implications that something bad happened to me.

And it did.

Something so horrendous, so cold-hearted, I will never forget.

The scars on my arms, the burns on my back, and the scratches on my legs.

“Things get better” They say. “Just hang in there.”

But it’s hard to hang in there when you’re bleeding out.

When people mention that life is hard, I agree.

But how does ‘hard’ look to you?

It can be surviving the wilderness or passing the next quiz.

The only limits you have are the ones you give yourself.

I told myself I’d survive. And I did.

Through all the years of torment and pain, I’m here.

You have so much to live for, so much ahead of you.

I don’t care if you’re ten or 99, you are worth every minute, every second of your life.

Don’t you dare touch that blade, the belt, the bottle. Throw it down.

Yell, NOT TODAY.

The doubts I have about myself are cruel. Cruel to myself! Cruel to the people around me. The world will not take me today, tomorrow or ever! Only I can let myself go. And I never will.

I may not be perfect in the eyes of a stranger, but in the eyes of the person I see in the mirror, I am more than perfect.
