Normal People Scare Me

Who is this?

At least they haven’t noticed my fear

A vicious animal with his mouth open

Jaws unlocked ready to devour

Yet his appetite only hungers for my mind

Parched but solely thirsts for my thoughts

I cannot stand here

In a sea of molasses that you call sugar

In a boat leading to death

Though you call it paradise

Who has ever been in a paradise

That never rests but bleeds

Drenched in the stuck that keeps you down

Believing you’re actually up

Believing the shadow that’s not you

But an imitation

I don’t want to be drawn in

To your silly games

Nor your mindless trap

I will keep my hands clean

Keep your normal

So that my door may close

And peace shall be mine once more
