Zero, One, Zero, One, Zero, One, Zero
Seems to repeat over and over in my head
My heart pounding like a drum during a war
Ba-bum, ba-bum, ba-bum, ba-bum, ba-bum.
My eyes searching in the mirror for something,
Something that will appear non-binary
My short hair touches my neck slightly.
My clothing hanging loosely on my frame
Judgement in their eyes as they stare.
Alarms ringing in their head as they glare.
My classmates gawking at my appearance.
Appearing neither male nor female
The girls act like I am a disease in their midst,
The boys call me names behind my back.
The teachers just smile and avoid my name.
My friends are gone, and there is no one else.
Living in a binary world is tough,
Although the pain, I had enough,
A non-binary will never survive.
In a world made for only Binaries.
