No Wonder

Poem

I must admit it, know we both think it

I can’t stand it, how we’re stuck right now

Stuck in the middle, verbal battle

We’re at a standstill, catching our breath right now

Funny how the World works, I put my heart in first

Showed you where it hurts, and where the knife is

We’re pretty on paper, but even paper burns

You grabbed the knife and I thought no wonder

No wonder we all have issues

No wonder we build up walls too

High to let anybody back in

No wonder

I am confessing, I’m guilty

I’ve stopped myself from pouring the truth out my mouth

Not good together, we’re not forever

You’ve never helped me up when I’ve fallen down

You’ll never tell me it’ll be alright

Yet I’ve stuck around and been by your side

You can’t look me in the eye

But I’ve opened mine, no wonder
