"So tell me..."

So tell me, when does your heart begin to feel

If your stubborn mind blocks what's real?

What is left for a girl to do

To make you realize what's in front of you?

You say that alone is what you want to be

And say you're in love, but can't be with me

I say you're afraid of love, so you run

Your trepidation makes me the discarded one

I want to whisper, to make you feel

The precious words my lips conceal

The secret that lies beneath this smile

To tempt and put your heart on trial

I want to hold you close to me

And show how love can set you free

The truth lies underneath a mask

Yet honesty is all I ask

But to express how much I need and miss you

Seems the worst thing I could possibly do

Why does loving you push you away

What is so hard about trying to stay

Just you and me?
