Nice to See You Again

Poem to My Notebook

Hi there.

It's been a while.

Nice to see you again.

Lately,

I haven't spoken much.

And the words I have spoke

have been so hollow,

they'd shatter

if anyone wanted to chip away,

chip away at the truth.

If anyone wanted to see

behind the mask

that I placed over my face,

I'd be speechless,

I wouldn't know what to do.

Except...

when I'm with you.

When I'm with you,

I no longer wear a mask,

I no longer wear a shield

from the words that others wield,

I can be free,

you can fully see

who I am,

and

who I want to be.

When I'm with you,

I am away

from all the fires

in all the hells

in all the world.

I'm far into the stars,

A world of imagination,

and

a world of truth

all at once.

A place where I can take the oath,

Sit in the witness stand,

Tell the truth,

the whole truth,

and nothing but the truth.

But still feel like youth.

Be free,

but still

be...

me.

Hi.

It's been a while since

I confessed on your lines

and spilled my emotions on your pages.

Nice to see you again.

Now,

please...

Keep me sane.
