Passing flirts and hidden smiles

Having you look at me in a certain way all the while

You take me out show me a good time

Then after a few months whisper to me "You are mine"

We get closer together with each passing day

And after a year, you have something important to say

You take me out to see the best sights

There is a look about you that isn't quite right

We eat out at my favorite place

The whole time a big smile upon your face

You get down on one knee and show me a ring

You ask me to be yours forever, I'm so happy I could sing

I say yes, because I love you with all of my heart

I can't wait to start our lives together and never be apart

Another year down the road, and I have great news

In nine short months we will have to worry about baby blues

You caress my stomach with such joy and love

As we know this little one was sent from above

The nine months pass in such a flash

That now we are getting to the hospital in quite a dash

Another day later, our precious girl is born

My mother brought a blanket for her that is quite worn

We snuggle her close and not a day goes by

That we don't thank the Lord for hearing her soft cries

Another year later, she is learning to walk

And pretty soon she will begin to do more talk

We travel along this road we call life

Never knowing if there will be any strife

But we can make it through all strong and proud

As if touched by an angel sent from a cloud

We will stay together and work things out

Because that is what true love and marriage is all about.
