Never Again

A Poem

Imagine you get the world and the world betrays you.

You stand there, empty and alone, wondering "who knew?..."

"Who knew this would happen to me... God... why me?

I was so involved with love.... I couldn't see...

I betrayed myself and let my blindness win...

Never again will I commit such a sin.

Never again will I let myself be a fool

Never again will I let myself be a tool.

I gave you my Heart and you gave yours to another.

Oh, you wanna apologize? Don't even bother...

Once I take the trash out

I don't have any doubt

That I'm through...

Yes, with you...

You are the worst kind of human.

Don't even say I'm assumin'.

There's no "startin' over," this ain't a game.

You have played long enough... I know your aim.

So go... Get outta my life, before you cause more Havoc.

Not even sure if I'd save you from Oncomin' Traffic.

Although I'm nice, I probably wouldn't let that happen.

Nevertheless, it is quite a nice thought to imagine.

Never again will I be betrayed.

Never again will I be made

A fool of by some petty low life

Whom with I had such wasted strife.

Look... about you, I really do not care.

But hey, this rhyme kinda sounds like a prayer.

I could almost end it with 'Amen'...

But nah, I'll just say... Never Again..."
