Negative Picture Show...

A Poem

Negative picture show...

So much frustration makes it hard to breathe...

I cling to a thread of positivity as I pray for it not to leave.

Amid endless drama I find myself wondering why am I suddenly the star?

When I distance myself from troubles and those that follow where they are.

All I want is what I wanted so many years ago.

A quiet life of peace and happiness...

Where I wasn't a lead in a show.

Where the dramas keep on coming.

Where the actor's don't even know.

That there are lost & frightened people...

In this negative picture show.

I don't know who deserves the oscar.

I do know who feels the pain.

I know who has to live through the nightmares.

I know who has to try to dance through the rain.

When she smiles my heart beats again...

She strokes my hair and kisses my face.

I am reminded of our sacred home.

Together we have a warm and safe place.

And I find what I wanted so many years ago.

A quiet life of peace and happiness...

Where I am not a lead in a show.

Where the drama cannot touch us.

All Ice turns to snow.

There are no lost & frightened people...

There is no negative picture show.

All I can do Is keep her hand in mine...

As often as I can.

To pray that she walks the line...

In the Shadow of her old man.

If I could take away one sorry scene...

I would edit it in a second.

I would change the cast and make it last...

So she would never have to know.

Of this life she's caught in...

She wouldn't have to feel it as she grows...

She wouldn't have to be part of...

This negative picture show.
