Calming the Anxious Mind

Middle of Nowhere 2017

Anxiety is crippling,

It entangles your mind with an endless web of lies.

Unable to hear truth through your mental cries,

You fight and push them to the side

But your effort slides.

The pride in your heart is too much to part,

Missing the mark.

My life is a battle,

One you cannot see

But it embodies me, taking all of my energy.

At night I sit in silence waiting to hear from the One who heals.

Finding joy through hurt is the only thing He reveals.

I slam the door throwing a fit,

This isn’t what I meant a bit.

Shhh, my child I am here, forever and always

Near.
