My Withering Rose

I lost you... I miss you... I need you...

I am a Gardener,

You were my rose.

You came to me looking for someone to trust,

For betrayal is all that you've ever known.

It's almost as if you were made for me

We both needed somebody to rely on

So we started to lean on each other

Just then, our seed of trust was planted

Neither of us knew how much that seed would grow.

Later on, you moved on—to another friend

You learned to trust again

You began to trust him

He told you lies and the rumors he had heard of me

I lost your trust.

How could you let him dig up our seed?

Eventually, the truth came out

The rumors and lies weren't true after all

Though nothing was the same between us

Friends again, but so far apart

We didn't talk as much

I would still be there whenever you needed me.

Something happened to you

Your mother passed away

I wish I could have known sooner...

You needed me

I didn't know

So I couldn't help you...

By the time I knew

It was already too late

You had begun cutting yourself...

You were fading away

I knew I couldn't help you

It made me so sad

I invited you to come see me for my birthday

As I would all of my friends

But little did I know,

You wouldn't make it that far...

I get sick to my stomach when I think of you

Especially the days close to my birthday

That's when you left us...

You left me

Every wish I get, I wish to see you again...

I miss you

You'll always have a place in my heart
