My Natural Disaster

A Poem

My mind is like a storm.

One that brings horrible disaster.

One that is all of a sudden;

An awful downpour.

One minute I'm happy,

The next thing you know,

The storm has suddenly settled in,

Ruining the good day I was having.

I can't spot what brings on these storms.

Inside my head, I swim around.

My thoughts are like living in a tornado.

Being thrown here and there all at once.

I'm drowning in the tsunami of overwhelming emotions.

I'm caught up in this hurricane of mindset,

It won't let me go.

Why can't I let things go?

The sunshine comes and goes,

But when will it come to stay?

My mind is a storm.

A dreadful storm I can't seem to escape.
