My Dearest Kitten

For My Little Fellow, Even When He's Acting like a Brat

My Dearest Kitten,

Though you are not exactly a kitten anymore;

I still see you as just that.

From a meek and small ball of fluff

To a sleek, shiny, handsome-looking feline.

Your fur black as night

turns a dark coffee brown in the sunlight.

Your gold eyes with black irises

peer through my soul,

and turn my heart into pure gold.

I am weakened by your docile little meow

and you get me every time.

To the treats, I say!

Your little black bean toes

are squishy and soft,

feeling like mini pillows even

when you claw.

But what do I love the most my dear kitten?

I love your early morning snuggles and

before bed cuddles,

and when you follow me even to the bathroom

to get a few pets.

And for those reasons,

you will always be my kitten.
