My Blue Sky Boy

I never minded when the skies would fade to gray.

You would stay beside me and try and show me the way.

My head was always cloudy with the thought of us.

But of course you had to go and ruin that trust.

You lied and cheated and couldn't even look me in the eyes.

Especially when you told me you were going to hang with the "guys".

I finally had enough because I knew I deserved better.

My mother always told me there was somewhere with better weather.

So I drove away to a town and met someone knew.

And with him the skies are always blue.

I can see clearly when I think about me and him.

Our love was never half full, but filled to the brim.

He can stare me directly in the eyes and his voice doesn't shake.

This time I know my heart isn't going to break.
