Mutual Affection

A Poem

A knock on the door

She runs to the sink

Just one moment

Faintly she speaks

Her family abused her

Both physical and mental

The hurt they caused

Was not accidental

Her mother told her

She'd never succeed

Which only increased

The need to bleed

Another day gone

Another day passed

However she knows

This smile won't last

The cuts get deeper

The sorrow seeps through

Broken and alone

Unseen by you

The bounty is set

On everyone's head

They made her cry

Until the very end

She raises her arms

Takes aim and fires

Ending all those

Who must now expire

At last she stops

They all lay still

The voice in her head says

One last person to kill

The shot is heard

In every direction

Now she lies

With mutual affection
