Moving Forward

A Modern Sonnet

When I am with you, I feel butterflies

In my stomach, with you I feel happy.

And I’ve never been good at poetry

But you make words appear in front of me.

My Muse, my lover, my waste of my time.

Let's waste the time we have left, together.

Because we’re wasting away, you and I

So let us live while there’s still life in us.

I have lived, I have learned, and I have grown

There is still so much I have left to learn.

And I, in my love for you, have been moved.

And I, in my time with you, have been loved.

But now is the time to say my goodbyes

Please, one last kiss under these starry skies
