Morning Departure.
Rubbing a pattern into his back, his dead skin
under my finger nails.
Rise. Fall.
Room scented with the smell of our love.
Jealous of his long eyelashes,
so naturally pretty without mascara.
Rise. Fall.
Let me love you.
His psyche pulls me close, I can smell
his skin.
Rise. Fall.
Oh, how love is inconsistent.
The musty and strong, sophisticated and
young.
Rise. Fall.
Let our love last.
