The lady with the rags and frail structure,
The gentleman who once was fed on nurture.
The young girl who wishes for a better life,
The young boy that wishes she was his wife.
They are not alone in the city.
The once Earl who gave away his riches,
The Countess of old covered in stitches.
The past Duke sits on the pavement,
The Duchess sells her body for payment.
They are not alone in the city.
You pass these characters every day,
And turn them down when asked for pay.
You may fall as they once did, long ago,
You reap just what you sow.
