Moments

And the Concept of Time

By Ray CallejaPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

What is in a moment's cause?

A flicker, a brief, a pause.

Defined by the intricate system of time,

Something we can no longer define.

Trapped, the grains fall on your head,

The sands of time, as heavy as lead.

Hands clawing, at what could have been,

The sands of time, a noble fiend.

An inescapable void filled with love and regret,

People you have seen, heard and met,

Blurred into the distant vault of your mind,

A treasure chest, with no key to find.

Forever chasing after us one stroke at a time,

Running out of places to hide, no tree to climb.

It's of the essence, the ages foretell,

The fool blinds us with his spell,

Cast upon us, withered and desolate,

We blindly panic, unchained and resolute.

Every moment, instance, or memory,

How good was that show? Or when you found a flea?

Cannot be bound by time, restricted, or chained,

They Fuel the fire of life, and its eternal flame.
