Waking up to afternoon sunlight

Realizing what happened last night

Was actually not a dream

Or a nightmare

But rated 'R' for Reality

Rated 'A' for Abuse

Rated 'P' for Petrifying

And rated 'E' for Evil.

I hadn't even known his name.

He offered me a drink, but I declined.

He asked me to dance, still I declined all the same.

I knew I shouldn't have gone by myself.

I knew I should have charged my phone.

Maybe then I wouldn't be waking up to afternoon sunlight with a headache and blood between my legs.

Maybe then I wouldn't be hating myself for 'asking for it.'

We all make mistakes.
