Young Misfortune

She said, "I'll believe in fate, when fate believes in me"

Told her to see the bright in things, that it would set her free

She laughed in disibelief, but for that exact moment

I saw the exact happiness, that she'd been forever hoping

She said "It won't ever last, but why I am always?"

Told her nothing ever does, but why do you always?

She looked puzzled, so I placed the missing piece

Told her that I loved her, so beautiful, God must've worked for weeks

She laughed again, but for this time hid her face

She kissed me on the lips just so she could hide away

I heard light sobs, with my shoulder being rained on

My heart felt a throb, yet I didn't know what to aim on

I grabbed her by the shoulders and then I kissed her head,

She broke out into a song that truly sounded dead

She told me that she was dying, and to never forget her face

My heart started crying and my mind just took its place

"When will it happen? What will I do?" The questions raced

"When did this happen? What will you do?" The questions raised

Who will I mess with and talk raps with after school?

She smiled brightly, and told me, "Baby, it's you"

I looked puzzled, so she placed the missing piece

Told me that she loved me, and that I'm the next to be...
