Mischief

Looks can be deceiving.

They say she’s just a whisper

That wavers in the air

Teasing those she touches

Then pretending she’s not there.

Finding a helpless victim

Following their journey through

Earning the little trust that’s left

Before leaving them helpless too.

At first, it seems so innocent

Just a little healthy fun

Until the day it goes too far

Then the damage can not be undone.

Pain becomes the normal

As colours fade to grey

As all those moments that seemed so true

Begin to fade away.

So when she comes around knocking

Firmly close the door

As she won’t leave you until it’s late

That much is for sure.
