Mine.

Poem

A piece of artwork I created for art x poetry exhibit in Walsall last year. It ties in with the theme of consent and use of voice.

Mine.

This body.

It is mine.

Your poison of disruptive cruelty is banned from here.

Don't tar my territory with your abusive corruption.

Mine.

My tongue.

It is mine.

Your lecherous lies in an attempt to slut shame is not welcome here.

Don't shout over the voice that speaks of what you did.

Mine.

This life.

It is mine.

And you don't own it.

You don't own me.
