A Poem for You

I love you.

I’ve absolutely fallen for you.

You are incredible,

Beautiful,

Magical,

Mine.

Your selfless heart wrapped itself around me

Becoming my protector,

The newest dwelling for my heart

And I take it moment by moment:

Every whispered word along your tongue,

I cherish.

Every valued touch traced upon my skin,

I cling to.

And every impassioned kiss laid upon silky pink lips,

I praise.

And yet,

I am lost.

Words spill from my bleeding mouth in agony

Relieved to finally be voiced by you,

Your words, your feelings, shock me

And, every time, I am lost without a phrase to speak.

You describe your love for me

And I’m astounded, yet sad

Just because I can’t say

Every adoring word back.

I’m still cautious my darling,

As I have every right to be.

I hold my own tongue in,

Unable to spill out my heart

Forever belonging with you.

But I do love you.

I love you with everything I am,

With every atom in my being

That shivers when you call my name.

I love you more than I ever did him.

“I love you” rings true through

My heart, soul, and body

Until we are whisked away into eternity.

You are mine, love,

And I am yours

Until the end of our story,

Our tragic love story.
