Mind Over Easy

A poem

Mind over matter,

Figure it out before the soul gets tattered.

You fail at that, you might fall down the ladder.

Hit that rock bottom and you know your puny skull will shatter.

Mind over matter,

Don't listen to that inner chatter.

The lies your voices tell just keep on getting fatter.

Before you know it that soul of yours is getting battered.

The elements are clear

What holds you back is fear.

The truth is coming near

Can we get out of here?

Mind ever sick

All those delusions are getting pretty thick

Stop them ASAP, because they will make you sick.

Dumping the self deceit turns out to be a kick!

Mind ever sick

You find out it's a simple trick.

You learn a way to make it stick.

Give it a chance and it will click.

The elements are clear.

Go closer you cannot get too near.

Then you may see the true self in you has no peer.

Perhaps it's time to get the hell out of here!

Mind over mind

In the end that is the power you must find

The effort doesn't have to be a grind.

Don't let procrastination keep you in a bind.

Mind over mind

In terms of life, there's never been a better time.

You'll find it if you're so inclined.

You'll gain a power that cannot be confined.

The elements are clear.

It's in the atmosphere.

The veil that hangs is completely sheer.

No limitations, nothing to keep us here.

Mind over matter.

Time to disarm that so unhelpful chatter

Time to tune out the unrelenting clatter.

You gain control, by a lot more than a smatter.

Mind over matter.

Just one more thing I'll add here.

You're the only one that has the power to make you gladder.

Why take the path that can only make you sadder?

The elements are clear

And when overcome your fear.

You've got the wheel and now it's your turn to steer

Mind over matter, I say it's time to disappear...

When I was in third grade, my mom had me tested. Psychologically. I was given a classic Rorschach test. Apparently, I had an affinity for 'telling stories". Still do.
