Him: I can see her envy shining through your eyes, I can see that smile trying to cover up her lies - but she doesn't even know half the battles I won - compared to how much I've lost, in the end I guess we'll split the cost? It's a battle just to stay alive - we live in a world where all friends do is hide, and with foes around every corner, its a matter of time before its over. We are crouched down behind a wall, bullets are flying everywhere and that's when I said: "You're the world to me and I vow to keep you safe - so just stay here - wait for me, and don't go anywhere. I will be okay, I'll be back for you someday."

She hears me scream my battle call, and she hear the enemies start to fall. And I'm thinking, damn, this girl's got it all.

I left her standing there, surrounded by all our fears - we are trying our best to fight it, but they keep crossing the line. I just want to call it truce, and cease our fire - but until then all I can do is cry, and hope that it's not her time to die, because I fell for her about a thousand times - and I'm trying not to die because I want to hold her for the rest of my life.

And this is why I regret the military life, everyday is a test against fate.

(Her) I heard him let out a scream for help, so I come rushing out. My heart is beating so fast - I can't take the chance of losing him yet. I have my gun cocked and ready to fire, he sees me and screamed, "Baby take cover" but it's too late, I got in the way. The bullet struck me and I see you scream and then I black out - wake up later with blood gushing out of my mouth.

What don't you understand, I'm struggling just stay alive and my life's slowly slipping away - right in front of your eyes and I'm asking myself if I'll ever be okay. The nurse tells me that it's almost near the end of day, tells me I have one last visitor for the day. That's when you came up to me to say:

(Him) "Thank you for saving my life today, I heard talk that the boss is letting you go home today - but I just want you to know that you are the prettiest women I've ever known. You make so happy, I don't want you to go. I feel we are destiny and you mean the world to me."

(Her) Then he got down one knee and you said " Baby I love you, will you marry me?"

And the biggest smile begins to form on her face as I take her into a loving embrace and she said yes about thirty seconds too fast. But as always we save the best for last. The door barges open and the commander comes in and he says, "Soldiers, I hope you that you learned a valuable lesson - life's not a game. Every second of the any day your life can be taken away. Earlier today a young women risked her life to save my son, and I come here with good news, they will be married soon - also the war is now over and we agreed to cease our fire."

Him: Son you should have been their to hear the laughter - every remaining soldier got to live happily ever after. I married your mother and she bore me a child before God called her home. And this is the lesson no one can teach, losing someone you love makes the strongest people fall to their feet.
