Messy Love

A Poem

Slow Hands

Little butterfly kisses,

Make me shiver baby,

Those calloused thumbs sliding down my spine, playing me like an old Gibson,

I can’ t keep my back on the mattress, as your mouth plays wanderlust below my belly button ring,

Stopping long enough to give it a tug with the tip of your tongue. Fuck me! Up goes my back

And your hand is already there, lifting me higher your mouth disappearing in the twilight between my legs.

I exhale everything, my fears, my insecurities as my river flows between your lips,

Fumbling hands impatient fingertips as I pull the last of your layer from you smooth warm skin. I barely get a taste before you flip me onto my belly and bury yourself.

Hands over my head hair tangled between your fingers, my mouth in the pillow, your fingertips around my neck.

Messy wet sheets, tousled hair and sweaty skin as we fall asleep.
